UCTE is the first point of contact, for our members when it comes to the union matters in the workplace. We provide the day-to-day service and representation within the workplace. We handle complaints and grievances up to arbitration/adjudication directly with the employer; raise issues at all regional and national Union Management Consultation Committees; participate in all negotiating teams; provide conferences and support for members within similar employer groups.
UCTE is also responsible for the political action and communication strategies regarding public policy and workplace issues related to the areas within our jurisdiction.
The PSAC is the bargaining agent representative with the employers. The PSAC negotiates the collective agreements directly with the various employers. The PSAC also assists UCTE’s membership by providing union education, representation for all grievances that require arbitration/adjudication and support around issues of organizing and political action.
